Tuesday TIP - Label Styles

Label Styles are great for keeping your design set clean and standardized. Make sure you sit down before the project and think of all the standard callouts you may have in the set. Don't worry, if you need one later just add it to your DWT file and import it into the sheets you need it in.

I had to create special style for the grade callout so the negative was in parentheses.(with help from RK McSwain!)

Go to your settings TAB in the prospector and go under Profile View->Label Styles->Depth->Expressions. Right click on expressions and create a new one. Name it whatever your like with a description so you know what it is. Enter:

IF({Grade between Point1 and Point2}<0,-1,1)

Hit OK to save.

Now go to your Depth and right click to create a NEW style. Set all you general settings, layers, txt, etc.. Under the Layout TAB go to the "Contents" under  "text"

Pick the expression you created and put it on the right side.

Now Pick "Grade between Point1 and Point2" and make sure you turn OFF ALL SIGNS

Your end results: S=(-)0.25% for slopes with negative.
